Welcome to Learn Python Coding, an educational application by ChewCode—a brand owned and operated by Seek Your Way Out. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and share information related to your use of our app.

Information We Collect 

To provide you with a personalized learning experience and maintain our services, we collect the following types of information:

  1. Personal Information (Provided by You) – When you create an account (via Email/Password or Google Sign-In), we collect:
  • Authentication Data: Email address, display name, and profile picture (avatar URL).
  • Profile Data: Information you choose to add to your developer profile, such as your bio, website, and social media links (GitHub, LinkedIn, X, StackOverflow), as well as your portfolio projects.
  1. Learning and Progress Data – To track your educational journey, our servers automatically record:
  • Course Progress: Chapters completed, current tutorial steps, and preferred learning language.
  • Assessment Data: Test scores, number of attempts, and quiz results.
  • Gamification Data: Total XP earned, unlocked chapters, and earned badges.
  1. Automatically Collected Data (Device & Advertising) – To ensure optimal performance and provide advertising services (such as rewarded video ads to unlock chapters), we collect:
  • Device Identifiers: Advertising ID (Google Advertising ID).
  • Location Information: Approximate location (city/region level) through WiFi/IP, and precise location (if permitted by your device) used solely by our ad partners.
  • App Performance Data: Diagnostic information and crash logs to improve app stability.

How We Use This Information 

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • App Functionality: To maintain your account, save your learning progress, and sync your data across devices.
  • Community Features: To display your name, avatar, and XP on the public Leaderboard.
  • Personalization: To tailor the app to your preferred language and learning pace.
  • Advertising: To serve relevant rewarded video advertisements through third-party networks (e.g., AdMob) to unlock premium content.

Third-Party Services and Data Sharing 

We do not sell your personal data. We use trusted third-party services to operate the app:

  • Supabase: We use Supabase as our secure backend database and authentication provider. Your personal information, passwords (securely hashed), and learning progress are stored on their secure servers.
  • Google AdMob: We use advertising platforms to serve rewarded ads. These partners may collect device identifiers, performance metrics, and location information to serve targeted advertisements and measure ad performance according to their own privacy policies.
  • Google Sign-In: Used strictly to authenticate your account and retrieve your initial profile name and picture.

Data Security 

All data transmitted between your device and our backend servers (Supabase) is encrypted in transit using industry-standard secure protocols (HTTPS). User passwords are cryptographically hashed and cannot be read by us.

Data Retention and Account Deletion 

We retain your learning progress and profile data for as long as your account is active.

Your Right to Deletion: You have the right to completely delete your account and associated data at any time. You can do this directly within the app by going to the Settings menu and selecting ‘Delete Account’. Alternatively, if you no longer have the app installed, you can request account and data deletion by emailing us at [email protected] with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. Invoking the account deletion process will instantly and permanently erase your authentication records, profile data, learning progress, XP, and badges from our servers.

Children’s Privacy 

Learn Python Coding is intended for audiences aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data without consent, please contact us.

Your Rights & Device-Level Controls

  • Profile Data: You can edit or remove your optional profile links and bio at any time within the app.
  • Advertising & Location: You can reset your Advertising ID or opt-out of personalized ads through your device settings. You can also revoke location permissions at the OS level without affecting core app functionality (though ads may become less relevant).

Changes to This Privacy Policy 

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the app after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
